Non-Tax Receipt Portal (NTRP) launched

The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley inaugurated the Non-Tax Receipt Portal (NTRP), developed by the Office of Controller General of Accounts (CGA) here today. The portal provides a one-stop platform to citizens /corporates/other users for making online payment of Non-Tax Receipts to Government of India.

The annual collection of Non Tax Receipts is over Rs. 2 lakh crores. The biggest share flows from Dividends paid by Public Sector Undertakings, RBI etc. The other major items of Non Tax Receipts are interest receipts, spectrum charges, royalty, license fee, sale of forms, RTI application fee etc.

Objectives of the Non-Tax Receipt Portal

  • The objective of Non-Tax Receipt Portal (NTRP), is to provide a one-stop window to citizens / corporates/other users for making online payment of Non-Tax Revenue payable to Government of India (GoI).

 

  • Non-Tax Revenue of Government of India comprise of a large bouquet of receipts, collected by individual departments/ministries. Primarily these receipts come from Dividends, Interest receipts, Spectrum charges, RTI application fee, purchase of forms/magazines by students and many other such payments by citizens / corporates/other users.

 

  • NTRP will save users/citizen from the hassle of going to banks for making drafts and then to Government offices to deposit the same for availing the services.

 

  • NTRP shall facilitate instant payment in a transparent environment using online payment technologies such as Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Cards.
