Chronological Events of Ishrat Jahan Case
1. June 15, 2004: Four persons- Ishrat Jahan, Javed Shaikh alias Pranesh Pillai, Amjadali Akbarali Rana and Zeeshan Johar were killed in an encounter with Gujarat Police on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.
=> Police claimed LeT Terrorists were planning to kill Modi.
2. September 2009: Ahmedabad Metropolitan Megistrate called Encounter fake.
3. August-September 2010: Gujarat High Court asked the Supreme Court appointed SIT to take up case.
4. November 2010: Supreme Court rejected Gujarat Government’s plea challenging new SIT.
5. December 2010: SIT began Investigation.
6. January 28, 2011: SIT member Satish Verma termed Encounter fake.
7. December 2011: Gujarat High Court ordered CBI probe into the matter.
8. February 2013: CBI arrested IPS GL Singhal.
=> SIT, CBI did not find any link between Ishrat and LeT.
9. May 2013: Arrest warrant issued against Gujarat ADG PP Pandey.
10. July 3, 2013: CBI filedchargesheet, called Ishrat Encounter fake.
11. May 7, 2014: CBI gave clean chit to Amit Shah in this case.
12. February 5, 2015: CBI Court granted relief to Ex-DIG DG Vanzara.
13. February 11, 2016: Ishrat Jahan was a LeT member, Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley tells court.
